The Uncommon was created to bring something different to North Shields, a neighbourhood bar and restaurant where great food, cocktails, music and culture all live together.

Built inside Harbour House, The Uncommon blends the energy of a modern city bar with the warmth and character of the North East. Inspired by the places we love, from late nights in London cocktail bars to laid back European dining spots, we wanted to create somewhere that felt exciting, creative and welcoming all at once.

From our signature cocktails and flavour led food menu to the DJs, interiors and atmosphere, every detail has been carefully considered to create an experience that feels unique to The Uncommon.

We’re proudly independent, design led and community driven, built from the ground up with no shortcuts and no outside funding. Just a passion for creating spaces people genuinely want to spend time in.
